National Heads-Up Poker Championships: Another victory for Erik Seidel

The year 2011 started very well for Erik Seidel. Indeed, during the first two months, he registered very good results with a title at the High Roller World Poker Tour LA Poker Classic and another top trophy at the High Roller tournament of the Aussie Millions. And another new triumph scored his career. For the first time, Erik Seidel won the champion title of the National Heads-Up Championship (NHPC). After having beaten Chris Moneymaker on the final line, Seidel was entitled to the place of honor on the podium at Caesars Palace poker room, in Las Vegas. Note that 64 players tried their luck during the 7th season of the NHPC.

Seidel completed an excellent course because he managed to win in front of a field of renowned players including the last year's champion Annie Duke, Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunnungham, Vanessa Selbst, Andrew Robl or Phil Gordon before he qualify for the final head's up against Chris Moneymaker. After having flirted the title in 2010, Seidel finally had it in his hands. By pocketing the first prize of $ 750,000, Seidel, therefore, is at the head of the rankings of All Time Money List with earnings of $ 14.7 million in his possession. As runner up, Moneymaker pocketed $ 300,000. Note that he also challenged the elite of the game as Daniel Cates, Doyle Brunson, John Racener, David Oppenheim and the world poker champion Jonathan Dumahel who was in his first appearance at the event.
