EPT Copenhagen: A prize pool of € 2,023,496 to share

Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, welcomed since Monday one of the major step of the European Poker Tour (EPT) circuit. The Main Event with an entrance fee of € 5,000 was attended by 449 players, which is a real success for the event. For this seventh edition, 64 players will have the chance to be paid and have a share of the prize pool amounting € 2,023,496 of which € 500,000 will be awarded to the champion and € 328,600 for the runner up. After the first two days of competition, there remained only 262 survivors on Day 2. As usual, Nordic players were present in large numbers. They are known for their aggressive style of play. The 12 French players who made the trip to Denmark attended a game so hectic and only 8 of them were able to reach the Day 2 including Arnaud Mattern, Antoine Labat and Abdulaziz Abdulaziz who are in good position for the remainder of the tournament poker.

The poker room of the Casino Copenhagen has been invaded by many Scandinavian poker stars who hope to repeat the feat of Anton Wigg during season 6. For the second day of competition scheduled to take place this Wednesday, February 23, the Lithuanian Domantas Klimciauskas is the race leader with 203,800 chips. Renowned players like Jake Cody, JP Kelly, and Xuna Lui are also in contention to win the title of the event. Note that the final will be held on Feb. 26 at noon and it will be a big TV show.
