UKIPT of Nottingham: A high turnout and triumph of Gareth Walker

The Dusk Till Dawn (DTD) Poker Club was the scene of a double event during the poker tournament UKIPT of Nottingham held from February 11 to 14, 2011. First, the famous Card Room of this English town was able to gather and especially beat its old highest number of participants that was 900 players in an Internal poker tournament of £ 50 +5 buy-in at the end of the month of October 2010. Less than four months after, the casino DTD Poker Club gathered in the same place some 1,058 players at the first appointment of the UKIPT for the new year. The entry fee of the NLH tournament was 500 £ + 60 generating a prize pool of £ 529,000 with in addition, the presence of 39 participating nations.

The second event marking the first stage of the UKIPT poker tournament of Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club in Nottingham is the coronation of the local player Gareth Walker before his compatriot Brett Angell. Thus, the host country's honor has been very well defended by the two players ranked first in the competition. Moreover, the 5 best players qualified at the final table were all British who faced an Italian, a German and an Irish. For this first victory of the UKIPT that will have all along the year 6 stages plus the grand final in London on the sidelines of the EPT London Season 8, Gareth Walker won the prize of 109,000 pounds. Manchester will host the next stage of the UKIPT 2011 with 500 £ + 50 buy-in at the G Casino on March 10 to 14.
