Casino hold-up: Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, the fourth attack in less than twelve months

The series of attack on French casinos is not yet over. Indeed, the Casino of Saint-Amand-les-Eaux, which hosted the final table of the Partouche Poker Deepstack, in the morning of Monday, February 7, 2011, was the victim of a robbery carried out by four intruders in a few minutes. Around 2:30 in the morning, several shots into the air followed by the launching of tear gas cut the atmosphere that prevailed, the time for robbers to steal the estimated amount of € 100,000 and fled before the arrival of police at the scene. The final phase of the tournament immediately continued as if nothing happened.



The same incident happened during the European Poker Tour in Berlin, in March 2010 with an amount of € 242,000 stolen but returned by the thieves a few days later, who scooped three and a half years in prison. Moreover, the case of those French gambling institutions is rather unique because four robbery with that of the Casino St. Amand-les-Eaux were committed within a few months. Starting with the Casino Pharaon of Lyon which suffered the robbery did by five armed men with machine guns on April 4, 2010 for a booty of € 28,000. Then came the attack by two gunmen at the Casino of Uriage on the morning of July 18, 2010 for a sum of € 20.000, followed by a fatal chase to one of the criminals by men of the BAC.
