WPT Venice: Starting of a big show of poker
Poker fever will invade the city of romance from February 3 to February 9, 2011. Indeed, after a very successful step in Biloxi, in the Southern Championship, the World Poker Tour (WPT) circuit will land in the City of the Doges in Venice for an exceptional new stage. The Casino Di Venezia, locating in the palace of the Doge Vendremin Gabriele D'Annunzio, will be the host institution of the tournament. The luxurious casino, offering a panoramic view over the Grand Canal, will host the top players awaited participating in the WPT Venice as well as local poker enthusiasts who will probably come numerous in order to defend the colors of their country.
The big event of players will be the main event of € 3,300 buy-in. Organizers hope a big crowd of players for this great TV show which brought together a field of 397 players in 2009. The competitors will fight to succeed the Swede Ragnar Astrom, champion of the 2009 edition. But the WPT Venice tournament will also feature the famous high roller poker creams. The entry fee for this great challenge is set at € 10,000 and the tournament is scheduled to take place from February 7 to 9.
