Aussie Millions Main Event: € 5.2 million prize pool gathered

Most of side event tournaments organized during the Aussie Millions 2011 have all achieved great success. The Crown Casino in Melbourne is now a meeting place of stars of poker. Since a few days, tables of the $ 10,000 buy-in Main Event have already welcomed participants. Until here, the event is a total success because a wide range of famous poker players was seen in the first three qualifying days. 238 players were registered for Day 1 A, 209 for Day 1 B and 274 for Day 1C. In all therefore, the main event of the Aussie Millions 2011 registered a field of 721 participants generating a huge prize pool of € 5.2 million or AUD $ 7,210,000. The grand lucky seizing the victory will thus pocket a nice prize of $ 2 million equivalent to € 1.5 million.

The challenge is immense but the task is not easy because the field includes a big number of elites. After these three days of competition, there remain only 271 survivors to start the Day 2. Eric Lindgren holder of 186. 000 chips, Jeff Rossiter owner of 154,900 chips and the local pro Keefe Oliver having a huge stack of 198,200 chips are the chip leader of the three Day 1. They therefore have a major advantage that could enable them to acquire the trophy. However, nothing is settled yet as Patrick Antonius (176,500), Carter Phillips (162,500), Chris Moorman (116,900) Phil Ivey (134,200), Jeff Sarwer (120,500), Gavin Griffin (101,700) are in excellent position to the following of the tournament. Despite their relatively small stacks, Sorel Mizzi, Jeff Lissandro, Chris Ferguson, Van Marcus, Andrew Cyrille and Roland de Wolfe are also players that other competitors should fear.
