Federated Sports and Gaming: The elite poker's league
For several years, professional of poker begged the establishment of a circuit for the best poker players worldwide only. Now the project is underway and it has the name of Federated Sports and Gaming. This is a league for elite of poker orchestrated by the famous Annie Duke. Note that it also gained the support of Erik Seidel, owner of 8 bracelets of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and Jeffrey Pollack, a leading figure in organization of the world championship of poker in Las Vegas. The Elite League will be composed by a series of four televised tournaments taking place between August 2011 and the month of January 2012 promising a huge prize of one million dollars and the Palm Casino Resort in Las Vegas will host the event.
According to the organizers, it is homage to the best of poker because they will finally have the opportunity to sit down with opponents of their size in an event devoted specifically to them. Thus, for the first series, the organizers will select among the 200 best players in live tournaments to be among the competitors for the competition. Indeed, the players in live tournament will be the most privileged and that decision that has already pissed off some of the followers of cash games and online tournaments. The selection will be based on a mathematical formula incorporating the results of the major players in live circuit. Annie Duke and the members of the Federated Sports and Gaming expect the realization of the project. The League of Elite promise to provide a big show of poker.
