PCA Main Event 2011: Thirty more participants than last year

1,560 this year against 1,529 last year; this is the number of participants who took part in the first two days of the Main Event of the Poker Carribbean Adventure that took place on Saturday 8 and Sunday, January 9, 2011. A new record attendance that has a direct impact on the prize pool that will be $ 15,132,000 and the colossal amount offered to the winner of the tournament estimated at $ 2,3 million. After these first two days of competition, players who had a chance to regain the starting point of Day 2 were only 645 on Monday night. What is certain is that the winner of the main event of last year, the youngest champion in the history of PCA, the American Harrison Gimbel won't no longer be among the contenders of the title of this seventh edition. He was ranked in 587th position.



To return to the start of Day 2 of this PCA's Main Event 2011 on Monday, the Dutch Pieter de Korver was the chip leader with 245,300 chips. The 9 other top players in the top chipcount rankings were respectively Walid Bou-Habib of Lebanon with 239,000 chips, Ryan Olisar USA. with 227,700 small coins, Timothy Finne USA for 225,100 tokens, 225.000 chips for Carol Ventura (Brazil), Ilan Rouach of France had 224,900 chips, Tommy Vedes U.S.A had 220,200 chips, Guillaume Gignac (Canada) with 219,600, Chris Moneymaker of U.S.A had 217,600 chips and 213,000 coins for the Canadian Owen Crowe.
