Poker: Many evolutions and some many critics observed during 2010

With the popularity of poker, big events around this game marked the year 2010, facts that did not go unnoticed by the general public. The opening of the online poker market in several European countries especially in France was one. Indeed, long awaited by operators and players in the world of online gaming, the French authorities finally gave the green light on April 6, 2010. The legalization of online poker created a real expansion of this game and also changed the game offerings. New circuits have been developed and licensed poker rooms increased their advertising campaigns without forgetting the production of several television. In short, a considerable success, however, the law on online poker is still subject to severe criticism. Cheating perpetrated by Ali Tekintamgak at the Partouche Poker Tour also marked this season. A priori, the champion of the World Poker Tour Barcelona already won the victory by cheating because his two accomplices pretended to be journalists communicated to him his opponent’s table cards.

Many players dared to respond to ill-offs in tournaments such as favoritism or misinterpretation of the rules. Moreover, journalists who assist at these events reinforce critical in any problem. Apparently, operators, organizers of tournaments and poker players should establish clear, precise and consistent rules to avoid such incidents that could harm the reputation of the circuit. But the greatest tragedy that the poker community deplored during this year was the theft at the European Poker Tour in Berlin. It is obvious that the big poker boom has also led to bad intention of some people. And this incident should be a lesson to all organizers of tournament on strengthening security during the competition.
