Women poker players : Quite remarkable feats during 2010

Usually, women poker players represent only 6% of the field of a tournament and most of the time, men conquered the titles. This year, women were honored as a good number of these women poker players made a good run in major poker tournaments. The remarkable success of the female population in the world of poker began in March when Annie Duke won the trophy of the NBC Heads-Up Championship by ousting Erik Seidel at the final duel. A month later, Vanessa Selbst and Liv Boeree accomplished the same feat respectively at the North American Poker Tour Mohegan Sun and the European Poker Tour (EPT) San Remo. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) in Las Vegas were also an opportunity for the fairer sex to prove their skills. The eyes of the public were fixed on the star of the WSOP Europe Annette Obrestad. Unfortunately, she failed to repeat her feat. However, she conceded a good gain of $ 40,000 during this tournament.

But the success of women was again back in September when Selbst won the title of the Partouche Poker Tour. She was also featured in the 4th place of the High Roller of the European Poker Tour (EPT) London. Obrestad also excelled by receiving the sacrament of the Heads'Up tournament. In the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Cebu (APPT), the victory was also attributed to a woman in the person of the Korean Shin Young-Im. And finally, do not forget the feat of Vanessa Rousso at the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond World Poker Classic during which she was able to collect the title against male players of renown such as John Racener and Andrew Robl and ended up in the third place.
