EPT : Launching of Prague event this week

With a buy-in of € 5,300 and a magnificent structure of 30,000 starting chips with a level of play of 60 minutes, the main event of the last stage of the European Poker Tour (EPT) 2010 has just started in Prague, capital of the Czech Republic. Last year, the EPT Prague has been very successful with 586 players registered for the main tournament. But this year, the event had a less glorious departure because for Day 1A, the organizers assembled a field of 191 participants. To replicate the success of the EPT Prague 2009, the organizers should receive a field of 395 players for Day 1B.

Despite this drop in attendance, the EPT is one of the major tournament that acquired a great reputation among poker enthusiasts. Thus, notable players including many French players made the trip to join the prestigious Prague to fight for the title of the tournament. At the end of Day 1A, therefore, there are only 85 survivors to begin the day 2. If Arnaud Mattern, Jeff Sarwer, Ludovic Lacay, Sorel Mizzi, Vitaly Lunkin, Yann Brosolo, Nicolas Levi, Anton Wigg and Michael Tureniec have been victim of bad luck and can't continue the game, Marc Inizan, Fabrice Soulier, Ronan Collet, Hugo Lemaire, Bruno Launais and Guillaume Darcourt are still in the race. In very good fit for the rest of the competition, Elias Brussianos holds the chip lead with 199,600 chips in hand. In the French side, Nicolas Babel with his second position will also be able to defend the colors of his country.
