EPT Barcelona: Giuseppe Pantaleo, chip leader of the Day 4

The field of 758 participants of the European Poker Tour Barcelona was quickly narrowed at the end of Day 3. Indeed, after a hectic day of confrontation under the sunny skies of the Catalan city, there were only 24 survivors among the 112 poker players who invaded the poker room of the Gran Casino at the start of Day 3. Among the six representatives of the Hexagon who survived to Day 2, only Candido Gonçalves resisted and is in 12th place with 875,000 chips in hand. The famous French poker pro Bertrand Grospellier had a miserable defeat as Jan Boubli champion in 2005 and Gilles Michaud. Some notable players of the party were also éliminated without having reached the paid seats as Ruben Visser, the online poker pro Bryan Pellegrino, Surinder Sunar and Carlos Mortensen, but also the chip leader on Day 2 Bryn Kenney victim of Thor Stang attack.

For the fourth day of competition, the remaining field is made up mostly by local players, with Luis Rufa and Jose Luis Navarro in the top 5. The rank of chip leader has been detained by the German Giuseppe Pantaleo who managed to amass a huge stack of 2,309,000 chips while his compatriot Dominik Nitsche is the 21th place. The Italian Alessandro Longobardi and the Norwegian Thor Stang respectively occupy the second and third place. The Day 4 begins this Friday, November 26 at noon and confrontation will only end when the finalists who will fight for the trophy stand out.
