France Poker Series Lyon: Success for Christophe Monnin and the organizers

Achieving its fourth stage, the France Poker Series (FPS) circuit is actually making a name in the poker world because it has just recorded a success during its passage through the city of Lyon. A priori, the field of 300 participants estimated by the organizers has been reached, 324 poker enthusiasts invaded the Lyon Vert casino last weekend to compete for the title of FPS Lyon. Note that the grand finale of Barrière Poker Tour d'Enghien-les-Bains was held in conjunction with the tournament. What has most marked the fourth stage of the France Poker Series is the rise of amateurs and semi-professionals on the final table. Most of the time, the pros of the game monopolize the best rankings in tournaments but this time they knew early eliminations and did not even have the chance to be part of the winning players.

Christophe Monnin, Jérémie Sarda, Djamel Yousfi, Christophe Dartagnan, Ali Rahmouni, Stephan Fajg, Cyprien Herrgott and Yoni Elbaz have been the most fortunate to have accessed the final day of the FPS Lyon. Despite their lack of experience, it must be said that the audience attended a big show of poker. After 40 minutes, five finalists have left the competition. And the final head’up did not last long because having also dominated the final table, Christophe Monnin managed to climb up to the place of champion without difficulty. For this victory that will forever mark his career, the champion received the reward of € 88,444 while Jérémie Sarda as runner-up pocketed € 56,450. Organizers give appointment to poker enthusiasts on December 18th and 19th at the casino of Forges-les-Eaux.
