Australia New Zealand Poker Tour: Martin Kozlov wins the trophy

The Main Event of the tournament Australia New Zealand Poker Tour Melbourne (ANZPT) attracted 310 poker enthusiasts. By paying a buy-in of AU $ 2,700, they clashed for three days to win the title with a prize of AU $ 195,700. At the end of Day 2, it remained only 11 players vying for the title. It must be said that the Crown Poker Room of Melbourne hosted a great event that allowed the 37 poker players from this tournament to win a share of the prize pool. On Day 3, Ryan McKay and Joe Allis had to surrender and were respectively ranked 11th and 10th. Thus, the finalists stood out with Kristina Jeney as chip leader.

After three hours of play, Daniel Laidlaw, owner of the second lowest stack rolled to the 9th place. Raj Ramakrishnan, Ted Nguyen and Jeney knew also the same fate and were ranked respectively at the 8th, 7th and 6th place. Victim of James Obst, holder of the largest stack in the final table, Ben Savage (5th), Amanda De Cesare (4th) and David Chilcott (3rd) could not continue the tournament further. Obst Kozlov and Martin have been the two competing for the head's up. Note that Kozlov experienced great difficulties before reaching this stage of the competition. Indeed, he played with a short stack on Day 3. However, he showed great aggressiveness which gave him a huge advantage throughout the final table. And with a big luck, Kozlov managed to oust Obst during the duel and was awarded of the title of the ANZPT champion Melbourne 2010.
