Valencia Open : Thang as champion

381 players enrolled in Spain Cirsa Casino to compete for the title of the Valencia Open tournament. A dozen French players were among the field, a slight decrease compared to previous events. Expected to participate in this great tournament, Jean-Paul Pasqualini was unable to attend it at the last minute. Despite a defeat accumulated by most representatives of the Hexagon, the regular of the Wargram Circle, Yoni Houri, was able to defend the honor of the French community of poker by being part of the finalists of the event. Throughout his career, the young Houri didn't registered very great success in live tournaments despite his reputation of being an excellent player. But in Valencia, he accomplished a major feat by finishing sixth. He managed to overtake Michael Schuerpf, Tim Van De Riet, Jose Melia and Andre Joranger who were placed respectively at the 10th, 9th, 8th and 7th place. The two French players Frank Sylvestre and Samlane Phomveha also appeared in the list of winning players.

Thus, after four days of competition, the Valencia tournament finally appointed its champion and he is Thomas Thang. By eliminating Grigoras at the 5th place, Atanas Gueorguiev chip leader at the 4th place and José Diez at the 3rd place, he began a duel foregone against Andreas Hofmann. Indeed, the Dane accumulated a large advantage of 4.2 million chips in hand against the 900,000 of the German. Hofmann didn't resist long enough to Thang and rolled to the runner up and pocketing the second prize of € 89,380. Thang is the hero of Valencia and apart from the beautiful title, he was awarded an excellent gain of € 130,080.
