Marrakesh Poker Cup: James Bord win the $ 247,000

It was on last Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Casino Es Saadi Marrakech, Morocco that the long awaited Marrakesh Poker Cup tournament took place. Finally, it was a high roller of $ 50,000 buy. The tournament recorded only a field of 13 players even if organizers decided to reduce by half the entry fee planned at $ 100,000 at the beginning. This field is composed of stars of poker like Tom Dwan, Roger Hairabedian, Cedric Rossi, Anthony Lellouche and Robert Mizrachi. With a starting stack of 100,000 chips, players competed fiercely to win the title and the grand prize. Eliminations were then inevitable and Jean-Noel Thorel and Daniel Conte were the first victims. Hairabedian and Rossi followed them a few hours latter.

After the bursting of the bubble making Antony Lellouche as the bubble boy of the game, there stayed only four competitors on the gaming table with David Benyamine, Mesbah Guerfi, the recent champion of the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE ) James Bord and Robert Mizrachi who started the final day as chip leader. Benyamine failed and couldn't advance further and was therefore awarded of the 4th place with a gain of $ 61,750. Guerfi followed him soon after and collected the third prize of $ 123,500. Thus, a duel between Edge and Mizrachi began. If the public thought attending a long battle, the confrontation did not last very long because the WSOP Europe champion reiterated his great feat in London, showing a very aggressive style of play eliminating the brother Mizrachi in a very quick time. Bord added a new title in his prize list and pocketed the tidy reward of $ 247,000 while Mizrachi merely the second prize of $ 185,250.
