Sydney Poker Championships: Daniel Neilson won for the second time the High Roller

The poker room of Star City Casino in Sydney is currently hosting the tournament Sydney Poker Championships, an event that meets at each edition many famous poker players under the Australian sky. Last night, Daniel Neilson reiterated once again the feat he accomplished last year at the High Roller event during this tournament. Indeed, he once again seize the throne and the first prize of $ 103,500 of this event. The buy-in of this high roller increased substantially from $ 5,200 in 2009 to $ 10,200 this year, which probably explains the weak field compared to last year. Thus, only 23 players including Grant Levy, Sam Youssef, Aaron Benton and Billy Jourdanou participated in the tournament.

Tolly Sakellariou, Carlo Graziano, Jim Ghobrial, Rubie Brendon, Jason Pritchard, Andrew Hinrichsen, Neilson and Graham were the qualified for the final table. Neilson was the chip leader with 93,450 chips in hand, followed by Hinrichsen with 77,075 chips. Each competitor did his best but unfortunately some of them like Tolly Sakellariou, Carlo Graziano, Andrew Pritchard and Jason Hinrichsen had to disarm and leave the game without being able to pocket a prize. After the elimination of Ghobrial at the 4th place and Rubie at the 3rd place, it was Graham's turn to bow to the runner up spot as he had in his possession a small stack of 21,400 chips. This was not enough to confront with Neilson who owned 438,600 chips during this final head's up. Finally, the title of the High Roller Sydney Poker Championships returned to Neilson for the second time.
