Merit Cyprus Classic : German victory in the Main Event

The Main Event of the Merit Cyprus Classic tournament began last Friday and brought together a field of 181 participants. This contest of $ 5,400 buy-in mobilized many stars of poker and some of them have registered very good results by accessing in paid listing in the image of Eric Mizrachi, Kelly Kim, Maniga Loeser, Chris Karagulleyan and David Benyamine. But others have not been so lucky as Sorel Mizzi and Carter Phillips. The final of the Main Event table was formed by Mathieu Clavet with 940,000 chips, Ahmet Ucali (420,000), the Dutch pro Van Marcus (1,436,000), Hakan Dalokay (266,000), Andreas Krause (849,000) and the chip leader Zsolt Vasvenszki holder of the largest stack beginning the final with 1,885,000 chips.

As the owner of lower stack, Delokay was the first to leave their partners after a few minutes of play followed by Ahmet Ucali. Victim of attack by the German Andreas Krause, the chip leader also surrendered earlier than expected and had to settle for the fourth place. After the departure of Vasvenszki, the German propelled to the head of the tournament by accumulating the greatest number of chips, which offered him a large advantage over his competitors. And despite his incredible talent, Van Marcus left the game and finished in the 3rd place, pocketing a gain of $ 162,415. Andreas Krause and Mathieu Clavet then competed at the final heads'up. The two rivals offered an outstanding fight. But ultimately, the coronation returned to the German Andreas Krause who clinched the opportunity for the nice bonus of $ 415,780. The second prize of an amount of $ 285,850 was therefore assigned to Clavet, also author of a very good poker party.
