GUKPT: Triumph of Neil Channing in Luton

After defeating his 228 opponents in the tournament United Kingdom Grosvenor Poker Tour (GUKPT) held at G Casino Luton, Neil Channing alias 'Bad Beat' clinched the title with a magnificent reward for $ 104,316. It was last Sunday at the £ 1,000 buy-in Main Event of this Luton phase of the GUKPT. Already well positioned earlier for the victory of this final because he was the chip leader, Channing was the favorite of this latest phase among the 10 remaining competitors. However, this final was full of surprises because his opponents including George White, Keith Johnson and Ricky Mackintosh were not easy to beat during this final table. It was Victor Ilyukhin who had to leave the final table first.

Jeff Kimber was subsequently removed at the 8th place during this final followed by Joe Grech few minutes later. Elimination was also inevitable for Les Fenton, he was the victim of an attack of Channing. And after Ricky Mackintosh, Carlo Citrone, George White and Keith Johnson surrendered to rank respectively at the 6th, 5th, 4th and 3rd place; Channing and Adebayo Odetoyinbo started then the final heads'up of this meeting of poker. The duel lasted only a few minutes before Adebayo Odetoyinbo defer and took the second place, collecting at the same time £ 43,500. Neil Channing once again prove his talent because he already won the Irish Open in 2008 and he also totaled 25 cashes in the World Series of Poker. This new sacred enabled him to supplement his live tournament winnings of $ 2.5 million and to maintain his position as the best British poker player.
