Gambling: Good health of activities in Macao after the World Cup

The World Cup of soccer held recently in South Africa hadn't only positive effects in this country but it has impacts on gambling, casinos and poker included. This is the case of Macau, the former Portuguese colony conceded since a few years to China where gambling is a rooted culture in the habit for generations. According to studies conducted by the Bureau of Inspection and Coordination games in the country, revenues from casinos and poker rooms have increased significantly: 20% in July! Local poker players and enthusiasts of various gaming tables, among others, put together the package and spent the staggering sum of $ 1.56 billion, only in one month. A great leap forward that is certainly no stranger to the post-World Cup effect.

Indeed, this has not been the case a month before this sport meeting because the same casinos have also experienced a decline in revenues of the same magnitude. Instead of betting on table games, players were amassed in front of their TV to watch football. With these statistics, we can deduce that local casinos could again register a good performance this year in financially term. This little Chinese territory beats then now Las Vegas that suffers from the fallout from the economic crisis in the country of Uncle Sam. According to data issued of the State of Nevada, Sin City lost because revenue of casinos fell 4.7% in comparison to those of last year.
