World Open VI London: Phil Laak will defend his title

The 6th edition of the World Open in London will take place between September 6th and 10th, 2010 at Palm Beach Casino. This is a poker event that will bring together a very exciting field of 48 participants for its $ 10,000 buy-in Main Event. Competitors will have 30,000 starting chips. They compete over 6 tables of 8 players to define the list of finalists who will be composed of the seven best players in the competition. Last year, Phil Laak was the champion of the event. He ousted the German Jan Veit at the final head's up. Already, the Unabomber said he is prepared to defend his honor during the 6th edition. Since the World Open Tournament is scheduled just after the World Poker Tour Classic, Laak said he hopes to win these two tournaments.

But nothing is granted for Phil Laak as many big players have confirmed their attendance at Palm Beach Casino as Jennifer Tilly, his girlfriend, who was among the finalists last year, Yevgeniy Timoshenko, Dave Ulliott, John Paul Kelly, Roland de Wolfe, James Akenhead, Neil Channing, Praz Bansi, Luke Schwartz, Sorel Mizzi, the young Annette Obrestad, David Peat, Mike Sexton, Tony G, Dragan Galic, the champion of the Aussie Million Tyron Krost, Felipe Ramos, Ian Frazer and Giovanni Safina. These fervent poker players will therefore offer an unseen show for the community poker in this tournament which will be presented by the sublime Kara Scott. Jesse May will handle comments. The World Open will be broadcast on Channel Five later.
