China : Online gambling advertising considered as immoral will be punished

China warns online gambling sites including poker sites, casino and sports betting that they should moderate their advertisements and strengthen the verification of players. According to the government newspaper China Daily, fans of online games either poker, or horse betting of sports betting have a responsibility to identify and have a justified identity before accessing sites of gambling. So, minors shouldn't in any way have access to these online gambling services sites, a measure to fight against the problems associated with games such dependence. As operators, they must follow certain rules for the proper functioning of the market of online games.



These operators should then eliminate all advertisements deemed as pornographic like naked supermodels show or by involving porn stars, as did a site that used the image of a famous Chinese and Japanese porn actress. The Chinese government condemns players and operators who try to violate these rules. As noted, the annual conference on online gaming industry which took place in the coastal city of Dalian let know that online game players in China rose sharply last year. In 2009, the number of fans of online gambling, including poker and casino games reached 66 million and the turnover of operators is estimated at 25.8 billion yuan or 3.8 billion dollars. The conference report also stated that in 2013, the number of players will rise to 123 million and gaming revenues will amount more than 50.8 billion yuan.
