Main Event Day 1C: The Canadian Mathieu Sauriol as chip leader

The Day 1C of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker (WSOP) 2010 concluded last week. This competition saw a field of 2,300 participants. Some big players have been eliminated as the great Phil Hellmuth who did as always a remarkable entry at the Casino Rio, Dario Minieri, Tom Dwan, James Van Alstyne, the world champion of poker in 2007 Jerry Yang, Steven Begleiter, Huck Seed and the husband of Vanessa Rousso, Chad Brown. But this day was auspicious for the Canadian Mathieu Sauriol because he managed to win in front of this broad field by reaching to the place of chip leader with 169,900 chips in hand. He is still far from the victory because he is closely followed by the former champion of the Main Event of the WSOP, Johnny Chan who holds the second biggest stack of 163,700.

Some players known as the cowboy Hoyt Corkins, Barry Boatman, Carter Phillips and David Williams were also among the players in good position because they hold more than 100,000 chips in hand. On the French side, Jean Hammer won the most meritorious ranking at 17 th place with 125,875 chips in his possession. But Alexandre Luneau, Benjamin Pollack and Patrick Hanoteau have both defended the honor of the poker community of the Hexagon finishing the tournament in good position with a respective stack of 95,250, 77,575 and 72,700. From this temporary ranking, French players can still hope for better results at the Main Event of the WSOP 2010.
