Online game : Illegal poker rooms still swarm in France

Despite the liberalization of most of online games in early July 2010, illegal online poker sites still exist in France and they operate with impunity and illegality. Aware of this fact which certainly would affect the system recently created, the Regulatory Authority of Online Games or ARJEL quickly stepped into the breach, it displays its commitment to clean up the environment. It stated this in a press release dated on Wednesday, July 7th. Behind these illegal online poker rooms are hiding legal operators. Faced with these illegal activities, the ARJEL already sent 19 warnings to them to cease their activities in France. For now, the names of offending have been kept confidential but they will be published in a short time because the hearings in front of the judges to "order the blocking of these sites" will be done at the end of the month.

In this "hunting" for illegal operators, the ARJEL is supported by various administrative departments such as Police, Customs, Gendarmerie, the Tax administration and, of course justice, the aim of the collaboration is exchanging information to be more efficiently so. Good coordination between these entities would facilitate the task that is the fight against unlicensed sites. Currently, 22 cases of online poker rooms and online sports betting approval are still waiting, and website of great reputations are in that list. But ARJEL still has four months to publish a verdict.
