The World Series of Poker (WSOP) crowned the two last champions of its events before the Main Event. At the $ 1,000 buy-in No Limit Hold'em tournament, the victory returned to the Dutchman Marcel Vonk, becoming the first Dutchman to win a no-limit hold'em event at the WSOP. Right now, in football like in poker, Holland realize great feats. Indeed, this player from Holland beat a wide field of 3,884 participants and ousted in an unparalleled battle the American David Peters in the final head's up because at the beginning of this duel, the Dutchman had fewer chips than his opponent. Vonk pocketed for this victory the price of $ 570,960 while Peters went off with the second prize of $ 350,803. Fifteen French players attained the list of paid places like Thomas Pascal, Gregory Dartois or Benoit Rossignon. Note that this tournament rewarded the 396 best players.

Another exceptional tournament ended also which is the No-Limit Hold'em $ 2,500 buy-in. This event saw the victory of the American Tomer Gerda. He faced Vladimir Kochelaevskiy at the final head's up and Gerda who confessed as not being a very good player started the final with a reduced number of chips. But after a really amazing battle, ultimately, Gerda has been crowned champion and pocketed the $ 825,976 bonus. As runner up, Vladimir Kochelaevskiy pocketed the sum of $ 510,939. Among the 12 French players part of the paid places numbered 198, Slimane Mameche was at the 28th place, 48th for Laurent Leclerc and Benjamin Pollack was at the 62nd place.
