Poker : The favorite game of young Quebeckers

In Quebec, poker becomes more and more the favorite intellectual sports of the public, including youth under 25 years. The table games on the internet that are familiar to them facilitate their task in online transactions. A recent study by the Department of Public Health of Montreal with ten young composed of eight boys and two girls between 18-25 years in the Quebec region has let know their normal behaviors and their perception of poker. Earning money and realizing a common hobby among friends are the reasons given by a player of poker who become an enthusiast, Guillaume Turgeon, student at the Laboratory of Research in Sociology from Laval University. Two of the ten young people interviewed were also adamant in claiming to be professional players who play up to 20 hours per week to the game.

You must be skillful, very calm, audacious and control very well statistics and probability calculations to practice this very tactical card game according to the advice of experienced poker players. In any case, despite an intense campaign of sensitization through the image of the pathological gambler nailed at his PC, winning lots of tickets remains the leitmotif of curious young like the amateur player Chris Moneymaker who took home nearly $ 2 million dollars from the World Series of Poker in 2003. But this attraction is likely to last long with online poker version of Loto-Quebec concocted for the coming summer.
