SPT: A second victory for Javier Martinez Gil

The Casino of Ibiza was the host of the Spanish poker festival since last May 14th. The 2010 edition of the Spanish Poker Tour (SPT) has recorded a field of 150 participants consisting of many poker aces. Some French players have rushed to pay the buy-in of 1,100 Euro in order to access this event, and we shall mention among them Antony Saout, David Colin, SPT Castellon champion, Christian Debeil, Fabien Perrot, Valentina Messina. Despite their reputation as good players of poker, they have not been efficient enough at this stage in Ibiza. The unique representative of French players that really shine was Leonard Truche who manages to sneak up to the thirteenth place in the paid listing.

The players gathered on the tables of the Casino of Ibiza have repeatedly demonstrated their talents and skills during games. After the elimination of the star Leo Margetts, known for her exploits at the World Series of Poker 2009, the two competitors for the final head's up had shied away. The final duel then faced the Spaniard Javier Martinez Gil, champion Castellon SPT 2008, and Tobias Wagner. The battle lasted four hours during which each contestant had shown a very high level of play and hints worthy of professional beaten. Unfortunately, it takes only one winner, and luck seemed to have abandoned Wagner who was finally ousted by the Spanish. He still pocketed a pretty sum of € 24,200. For his part, the champion went off with € 47,000. With this new victory, Javier Martinez Gil is the first player to be crowned twice in the SPT.
