France Poker Series : Jose Barbero took the first title

At the same time as the grand finale of the European Poker Tour Monte Carlo, the championship of poker France Poker Series began Saturday, May 1st at the Casino Beaulieu-Sur-Mer. There were 149 competitors who start the main event of 1,200 Euro buy-in garnering a prize pool of 157,344 Euro. The field recorded during the competition hasn't really satisfied the organizers, however, the tournament went very smoothly. Note that 22 players were able to access the paid places at this competition. The casino of Beaulieu-Sur-Mer was this weekend the meeting point of many poker enthusiasts, namely Arnaud Mattern, Bertrand "ElkY" Claire Renaut, Fabrice Soulier, Guillaume Darcourt, Thomas Bichon, Jeannet brothers and many others.

Despite their reputation of pros of poker, they failed to be part of the list of 9 finalists consisting of Jose Barbero, Philippe Zunino, Emmanuel Kahan, Imed Ben Mahmoud, Alain Roy, Antoine Labat, Alan Smurfit, Steven Maurouard and Karim Benani. These competitors for the title of the tournament have been largely dominated by the Argentine José Barbero who ousted Philippe Zunino on the final head's up. And in that victory worthy of an unbeatable pro, Barbero cashed the prize for the champion of the first edition of France Poker Series worth 40,123 Euro, leaving to his opponent the second prize of 24,231 Euro. The third place returned to Emmanuel Kahan. With this honorable result, he earned 17,308 Euro.
