Act on online gambling : The French state assures

The French State wishes to reassure its citizens in the face of the liberalization of sports betting and online poker. So it would emphasize the main goals of the law just passed by parliament. The control of the market is the main objective of liberalization of the market regulation, market that was previously subject to a risk of anarchy. Illegal offers is legion in the sector and a hand-placing of the state would be welcome. The other objective is to break the monopoly held by the PMU and La Française des Jeux to allow new operators to a variety of offers, which by their legality will be able to eliminate gradually illegal informal proposals. These last operators will effectively incur 3 years imprisonment and a fine of € 45,000 under the new law.

Applicant companies won't obtain the necessary approval from the Arjel for the formalization of their business if they can't guarantee the protection of their customers vis-à-vis the phenomenon of addiction while submitting their sites to moderators. For operators of sports betting, they are bound through a contract the ownership of the organizers of sporting events. In addition, an organization designed to fight gambling addiction will be established and funded by the entries generated by the tax levies made by the state on stake of gamblers and poker players. But will these few details be enough to allay the concerns of the left parliamentary that appealed to the Constitutional Council to oppose the law?
