EPT Awards: The game is still open

The final of the European Poker Tour of Monte Carlo which will be held on April 30 is approaching fast. There remain only three steps before the season 6 of the European Poker Tour delivers us its ultimate champion. Despite the incident of robbery in Berlin, the season is an overall success. In the side of players, Maxim Lykov, Martin and Kevin MacPhee Karbhel are still in adversity for the title of player EPT of the year. The three men have all shone during this season and each have 160 points. Kevin MacPhee had overtaken the three leaders because of a successive very good performance : a triumph at the European Poker Tour final in Berlin, a second place in an another event of this German EPT as well as many paid places in Main Events.

The Russian Maxim Lykov is at the top of the ranking thanks to his victory at the Main Event in Kiev but also in the Side Event of the PCA. The Czech Martin Karbhel owes his good place thanks only to side events, he has three. The three men can't yet declare victory and claim the title, it would not take much to this classification to be messed, for example if one of the 21 first players win one of the three remaining Main Events, it would change completely. The title of the best players of Omaha is already assured for William Thorson, a variant that he has completely dominated this season. The title of Best Player of EPT Mixed Games is still in play because there are seven players within 50 points of difference.
