Poker Charity: The space as a prize for cards party

The City of Angels prepares to host next April 24 an unusual charity poker tournament whose profits will go to the foundation of American Scientist X Prize Foundation. It is far from charity poker tournaments where the classic jackpot is a seat for the World Series of Poker, this time the prize winner can take into space. For this beginning, the entrance fee to the tournament is much more expensive than for most charity poker tournaments, because it will be fixed at $ 8,500. And at the end, the winner may choose between an all-electric sports car Tesla Roadster valued at $ 109,000 or to know the total weightlessness during a space flight aboard the Virgin Galactic SpaceShipTwo worth $ 200,000 or be part of the first 100 people to enjoy the full decoding of its genome.

Many prestigious awards are also planned, such as a Harry Winston watch worth $ 56,000 or travel of dreams. The event will be limited to 80 participants and there is already whispering the arrival of poker players pros like Andy Bloch, Annie Duke, Chris Ferguson and Phil Gordon. Even if the tournament is scheduled for April 24, 2010, anyone who will register before April 9 will have the chance to have a private lesson with poker pros. And unlike other charity tournaments of its kind, other games like blackjack and baccarat there will also be offered and any player has the right to be accompanied but they have to pay a fee of $ 1,500.
