Clandestine poker game : 20 seniors arrested

The Police of Twin Falls, a small American town in Idaho, have been alerted of the existence of clandestine poker games. Arrived there, the public service found that it was rather a friendly poker. The participants were all retired, the youngest is in his seventies, while the oldest of them was 90 years old. These retirees give each other an appointment at the center of the town for a poker game since five years. So far nothing unusual, they needed a distraction to pass the time and a friendly game of poker can not harm anyone. But there is a small snag, those pensioners put into play $ 20 per player to give another taste to the party, which is illegal in consideration of the law.

The twenty elders had to comply with the law with great bitterness because all their future poker tournaments have been canceled. The group members began to play poker for their pensions and their weekly appointments were seen as a means to socialize, to spend time to put a little spice to their week. However, these seniors have agreed on one thing they did not know what they were doing, especially since they give between $ 400 and $ 500 each month to help support the Twin Falls Senior Center. Ora Deahl, 73, said: "Because the contributions to the center, we thought we were lawful."
