ANZPT Perth: Tony is not the shadow of his brother Joe Hachem

Until the ANZPT, Tony Hachem has been a shadow of his brother Joe Hachem, winner of the Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2005. Tony was known to be a good poker player but not as a true champion because he does not have any major title at his prize list. Tony Hachem has just demonstrated that he has the cloth of a champion by winning the Main Event of the Australia and New Zealand Poker Tour Perth, a tournament that he is particularly fond of since last year when he managed to reach the money four times in five at Adelaide (15th), Sydney (17th), Melbourne (16th) and Queenstown (18th). He has outdone 221 players who came to participate in the biggest poker tournament in Perth. With this victory, he pocketed the sum of AUD 132,750 reserved for the winner.

Hachem has discarded Aleks Lackovic in the final heads'up. A final heads'up that we could described as speedy because it took him only 10 minutes of play to snatch the title. The AK of Lackovic was cracked by the JJ of Hachem. Tony Hachem won the tournament after seven hours in the final table. Lackovic finds himself in second place, and he left home with $ AUD 84,250 as a consolation prize. Hachem did not have time to savour his victory because he left the crowd to catch a flight to the Philippines where runs the Asia Pacific Poker Tour Manila Pagcor President with another 1 million dollars to win.
