Steering EPT Berlin: End of the saga

A suspect confess his participation in the robbery of the poker tournament European Poker Tour in Berlin at the beginning of this month, during which four masked and gunmen stole more than ¤ 240,000 cash. The young man of 21 years, whose identity has not yet been revealed, surrendered to German authorities and handed over the names of his three other accomplices. The Berlin police circulated pictures of these three young people whose offending Ahmad el-Awayti, 20 years Jihad Chetwie, 19 years from Germany and Ucarkus Mustafa, a Turk who was 20 years too. Arrest warrants were issued against them. "Their homes in Berlin were raided Tuesday, but they were not there and we assume they have fled," said Stefan Teller, the head of the investigation of the police.



El-Awayti was arrested Wednesday in a subway station. The two other suspects are searched by the police. The car used in the attack was also recovered, but money is still missing. It is worth recalling that the casino was raided during the Main Event of the European Poker Tour on last March 6. The robbery had an impact on the poker tournament, but the competition immediately resumed later in the day. Until recently, the authorities had failed to make a track leading to serious raiders, and, despite numerous pictures and videos of the stealing.
