Harrah's has announced on Monday the resurrection of the "Tournament of Champions" in the schedule of the World Series of Poker 2010 after four long years of absence, to the delight of fans of poker. Now we know the eligibility requirements for this prestigious tournament. Only 27 players will have the chance to apply for the jackpot of $ 1,000,000 at the event to be held at Rio on June 27. Five seats will be assigned automatically. The 3 previous winners of the World Series of Poker ToC Annie Duke, Mike Matusow, and Mike Sexton will be present. They will be joined by the last two champions of the WSOP and WSOP Europe, Joe Cada and Barry Shulman.

The choice of the other 20 players will be given to the public. The vote was open a few times after the announcement of the comeback of the ToC and it will be closed on June 15 at midnight. To be recognized among the 20 participants, the player must be a holder of at least one WSOP bracelet. The choice will be difficult for the public because there is in total 521 eligible players. The last two seats will be allocated by organizers. Since the notification of the return of the WSOP ToC, 40,722 votes have been registered.
