European Poker Tour Award: The award of prizes will be objective

Michelle Orpea profited the Nordic Poker Awards which took place in the Danish capital to announce the return of the European Poker Tour Awards. The awards will be given during the Grand Finale of the circuit EPT to be held in Monte Carlo in April, the next step which will conclude the season. These awards will crown the best players during the Season 6. After several controversies over the choice of crowned in previous editions, the organizers of the European Poker Tour has decided to opt for an objective ranking. This year the rankings will be based on points awarded to each player.

Five of the seven EPT Awards will be given following this manner, the calculation of points will take into account the thirteen Main Event tournaments throughout the season and the 6-Side Events with buy-in higher than 1,000 Euros. For his part, John Duthie, who is none other than the founder of the European Poker Tour is very pleased with this new ranking system: “We launched the EPT Awards a few years ago but they were too subjective and I think the new system that we have implemented will be extremely fair, creating some interesting results”. The title of player of the year will go to the player who has the highest points throughout the season 6. It is possible that the player of the year is not the winner of the Main Event.
