Online poker: An inhabitant of Gourdon squanders the money of his partner
“I didn’t know what I had done. As I lost, I played, knowing that if I had won, it might be her who would have an credited account”, it is one of the sentences that Raphaël, an inhabitant of Gourdon, in the department of the Lot, in France pronounced at the bar of the court for a history of online poker. Raphaël is accused of swindling, violence with use or threat of a weapon. The history goes back in September 2009. Raphaël and Chantal were together during the summer, he is 14 years her junior and Chantal helps her boy friend financially. Raphaël had access to the code of the credit card of his partner and started to play online poker. After some time, he lost €2,500.
Chantal discovered the scheming of her companion, who caught red-handed, take himself the decision to reimburse it and decides at the same time to put an end to their relation and said “because I am honest and I did not want to have two sentimental stories at the same time”. A few weeks passed, Chantal was not always paid by her former boy friend for this money lost in poker. She makes the decision of going to see Raphaël in his residence. At the time of their meeting, a baffle occurred and ther was a quarrel and Chantal decides to lodge a complaint, she declares to have received insults and a spit and to be threatened with a kitchen knife by Raphaël who wanted to persuade her to withdraw her complaint. Raphaël was condemned by the court for two months of imprisonment, €100 of fine and €800 of damages.
