Sarthe Poker Tour: Launching of a French departmental classification tournament
At the image of the great international competitions, local clubs and leagues create more and more event of poker to put their players in the environment of great appointments reported each day in the media. In the French region of Pays de la Loire, the town of Mans, famous for its great automobile race has this time accommodate a meeting of poker: the 2010 Sarthe Poker Tour which had begun last Saturday. Forty impassioned of poker took part in this first step of a departmental tournament which objective is to hold eleven steps this year. The first step took place in the municipal room Henri-Barbin, in the district of Pontlieue of the town of Mans. Ten tables were drawn up to accommodate impassioned of poker. Young people were the most active during this meeting.
But all a different category of person also came to take part in this very new tournament like a 71 years old pensioner, who, after the death of his wife, had discovered another passion: the poker. The initiators of the Sarthe Poker Tour, Nathanael Hemery, president of Vauguyon poker club, and Erwann Le Boulanger, have as objective to transform this entirely gratuitous meeting a reference to classify the best player of the department. Indeed, there will be 11 steps such as the Tournoi de France and the one who will gain the most point will be the winner. Then, the other idea of the Sarthe Poker Tour is to create later a circle of poker for the impassioned of the game. And the second step of this meeting is already awaited for February the 27th, always in Mans.
