Online gambling: The French channel TF1 is always in the race

For several years, the Bouygues group has always sought to diversify, the group more or less made a success of its bet thanks to the acquisition of many companies. The group wants now to venture in the sector the most profitable of the moment, that of only gambling. For this work, the group will use one of best acquisitions than it carried out these 25 last years. It is about TF1 which is the first general TV station practitioner in France, which knew to develop on the territory of televisions sets of themes. TF1 also covers all the sector of audio-visual production, of the production until the distribution. The chain thus has many experiments communication technology. It is for these reasons that the Bouygues Group entrusted the reins of its development in the online gambling, poker and sporting bet with TF1. Recently it signed an agreement of partnership with La Française des Jeux (FDJ).

TF1 could be the third actor in the alliance between the FDJ and the Barrière group in online poker. That is the result of the dissension between Patrick Lay, former manager of TF1, and Nonce Paolini, the current chairman of the chain. Paolini had obtained from the big boss of Bouygues Group the unseating of Mr. Lay of the board of directors of the chain. Patrick Lay wanted to compete with the giants of sports betting in Europe with the company of bet SPS, held partly by the venture capital, Serendipity. But Paolini Nonce did not wish him to put in danger TF1 in this adventure which it considered as risked. Mr. Lay was thus ousted of TF1, but this latter will acquire at the same a part of the share of Serendipity in SPS.
