After five years of construction, the new centre piece of MGM Mirage’s casino opens its door at Las Vegas. It is about Aria Casino Arises which had cost 8.5 billion dollars. This new hotel complex counts more than 4,000 rooms with a casino which surface is more than 45,000 m ² and this gigantic place of entertainment will also offer at the disposal of its future customers several restaurants and a luxury spa. The official launching of this jewel of luxury casino and hotel was done on Wednesday afternoon. Approximately, 400 media were present at the event followed by a VIP reception on Wednesday evening in the casino during which more than 5,000 guests were invited. This inauguration ended with imposing fireworks which took place in the top of the tower of the hotel. After that, the hotel and its casino were opened to the public.
According to the declarations of the chairman of MGM Mirage, Jim Murren, this opening symbolizes the recovery in the sector. It represents the confidence of the community and the capacity of the group to persevere and never given up in spite of the economical context. “Even if you live in Summerlin or in Green Valley, wherever you are, it is a symbol of hope and valorization for a better year in 2010”, declared him. Bill McBeath, Aria Casino CEO, had also the same opinion; he thinks that the economic storm calmed a little.
