Canal +: The broadcast of the WPT will continue

The arrival of the emission “Stars of Poker” on the French channel Canal+ gave birth to many rumors among impassioned of poker in France as what, the new emission will replace the World Poker Tour (WPT), an event that the TV station had definitively buried. These rumors about this end of the World Poker Tour on Canal + are proven completely unfounded. The emission presented by Patrick Bruel and Valerie Amarou will not disappear and gives appointment to French fans of poker for the 2010season. Questioned by TV Magazine Jean-Louis Dutaret, the chairman of Canal+ Events declared: “The World Poker Tour will continue on Canal +. We wait soon the season 7. Poker will be thus very present at the antenna, but we do not want to make Canal+ the chain 100% poker. ”



The World Poker Tour is without any doubt the emission of poker most watched in France, in spite of the fact that it is on a paying chain. Since its creation in 2005, Canal+ brings the best tables of poker of the whole world during the time of the World Poker Tour. This year, Canal+ which wants to be a chain most present on poker domain creates an event by organizing a particular tournament: the Canal+ Poker Tour. Canal+ Poker Tour, a tournament which proceeds in five stages has a simple concept: 18 players clash during a stage. These 18 players are composed of 6 professional poker players, 6 celebrities and 6 players amateurs selected on Internet. The common point between the players is that they share a common passion: poker.
