Canal +: A new poker emission in sight

The French channel Canal+ is the precursor in the French visual audio landscape of television broadcast turning around the poker. Since the year 2005, the chain became a reference with the diffusion of the World Poker Tour (WPT) with the commentary of the singer, actor and impassioned poker Patrick Bruel. Moreover, the emission contributed to the popularization of poker on the French territory. Always in the same optics, Canal+ once again will innovate this year, it has just announced this Friday in Issy-les-Moulineaux the launching of a tournament of poker of a new kind. This new concept of TV emission will be baptized “Stars of poker”. The emission was imagined by Canal+ Events, which is the event-driven branch of Canal+ and Kawa Production which is a specialist of production in emissions in poker. The great difference in this tournament lies in the fact that it is the first time that professionals and amateurs are brought together on the same stage.



The tournament includes in all 5 stages, whose shooting will take place in unusual and astonishing places like the Arenas of Nimes, the golf of Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche or the room of the Olympia. Each stage will give two 52 minutes emissions. 18 players will take the departure of the tournament. 12 players ensuing from online qualification and among them, one or two celebrities will be placed between tables 1 and 2. While able 3 will be made up of six professional players. The 2 best players resulting from each table will measure themselves in final table. The winner of each stage will pocket 100,000 euros as well as a ticket for the Great Final. The winner of the super final will have 200,000 euros.
