WPT Warsaw: A beginning marked by a weak participation

After the few days of poker under the sun of the city of Marrakesh for the last one World Poker Tour, the European Poker Tour already puts its suitcases in the country of the krowka for some freshness. The number of players who took the departure lets thinks that poker players are rather nervous and regret the sun because they were only 88 during the Day1A. But we could also assign it to the increasing number of poker tournaments which are organized all over the world. For this fourth Polish Open, several players used by European Poker Tour were seen in the paths of the Hyatt Regency Casino. Among the 88 players who had paid their $6,000 buy-in, Arnaud Mattern, Manuel Bevand, Gilbert Diaz, Almira Skripchenko, Peter Eastgate, Angel Guillen, Luca Pagano, Alexander Kravchenko and JC Alvarado were found there.

The Day1 was marked by the big return of the American Crankcase Phillips, the last winner of the Catalan stage of the European Poker Tour. The 194,850 tokens of Crankcase at the end of the day made him the chipleader. The recent winner during the EPT of Barcelona is closely chased by the Italian pro Luca Pagano. The French hope in the person of Arnaud Mattern is very far from the main leaders, because he has only 28,000 tokens in his ownership, right by the 2008 WSOP champion Daniel Negreanu who has 32,000 tokens. The best French place was occupied by Michel Abécassis with 43,000 chips.
