Montpellier France: A jackpot settled in front of the court
An exceptional affair was dropped by the county court of Montpelier on last Tuesday. It is one of rare times that the justice had to stand out against a casino gain. Marie-Hélène and Francis, two ardent fans of casinos and gambling machines quarrel a very big jackpot. Reminder of the facts: the story began March the 6th of this year in the Casino of Palavas-les-Flots, in the Hérault district. This day there, Marie-Hélène inserts a 50-euro note into the crack of the machine n°168 but it was Mr Francis who was at the commands of the slot and who had pressed on the button. After some seconds of cold sweat and suspense the chance smiles to them. The €2,174,667.15 mega jackpot has just fallen.
Of customs, Marie Hélène and Francis will divide the earnings, but not this time. Check in hand, Marie-Hélène makes one thousand promises to Francis that he will have his part, but apparently the woman have amnesia. Ten days later, it was nothing and Francis decided to contact a lawyer. After survey and viewing of the surveillance videos of the casino, the police noticed no offence, where the tranfer in front of the court of the affair to know who is the real winner of the jackpot. According to Mrs Luc Abratkiewicz who supports Mr Francis, the jackpot comes back from right for his customer, because it was him who sat in front of the machine, and who made the act play and the totality of the earnings will have to return to him. Marie Hélène's lawyer had not the same opinion, he considers that it is the person who bet who is the player.
