EPT of London: Aaron Gustvason as winner

The Main Event of the European Poker Tour of London has just ended in the evening of Wednesday October the 7th, 2009. The London EPT became the greatest tournament of poker of Great Britain because the Main Event of this last edition gathered a field of 730 players, even the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) which were held there one week before was not able to do better with their 608 participants. It was the American Aaron Gustavson who won the title facing his compatriot Peter Eastgate. An impressive victory knowing that his opponent is not other than the winner of the Main Event of World Series of Poker 2008. Aaron Gustavson started the final table as chipleader with in his possession a stack of 7,140,000 chips and continued to dominate until the final victory.

Aaron Gustavson who descended from an online qualification knew the right strategy to adopt in front of many poker professional players who joined the field. Stars of poker such as Joe Hachem, Greg Raymer or Chris Moneymaker were crossed in the hall of the Metropolis Hilton Hotel. The tennis player Boris Becker and the former professional English footballer Teddy Sheringham were also of the part. With this victory, the American went back with the sum of £850,000 as well as a ticket for the great final of Monte Carlo. Of this European Poker Tour of London, we had also noted a French exploit. The franco-Morrocan Karim Bennani ended at the 8th position of this EPT and pocketed the sum of £50,100.
