On-line bet: Bercy warns an operator

The French National Assembly will study the long-awaited bill concerning the opening of the market of the online game to competition and the regulation of this sector. Promising market which arouses interests of several big groups, some operators of online game are impatient to come to settle down on the French ground. If the State wishes above all a whole "controlled" opening of online games, the task will be however hard because Internet is a media which cannot be controlled easily. Bercy has so just reminded that as long as the law concerning the online games which governs also the activities of online casinos and sites of poker on Internet hasn’t been passed, all forms of publicity for sites of online game will remain outlaw.

This announcement took place after the publication by the free daily newspaper Metro of coming from the Zeturf Site. For the 88th Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe, which took place on Sunday October the 4th at the Longchamp hippodrome, Métro published in a form of an official statement: “The French zeturfists which are most numerous, the dimension of the English horses will undoubtedly be more advantageous than in the English bookmakers”. The cabinet of the Minister for the Budget Eric Woerth immediately settled that it was disguised publicity. This decision comes in government perspective to want to maintain the prohibition of publicity on online games before the law on the opening of this market is approved. Zeturf which for reminding, is a website founded in 2001 implanted in Malta and specialized in online betting on horse-races in Europe.
