New technology: Vector of increase of the French people expenses
L’Observatoire des Dépenses Médias et Multimédias Media or Multimedia’s Observatory of Expenses has just ended that French people expenses increases gradually because of the new technologies, especially because of web. For this year 2009, an increase of an extra 22 % was noticed compared with the same period of the last year. Online games are classified as one of the reasons of this unexpected increase. Indeed, French people are more and more fascinated by tournaments organized in online casinos or on a poker room. However, it is not really this love for the casino games as black jack, bingo or the sports betting generally that is the only origin of these expenses in increase.
It was noted that it is the strong consumption of new technology which evolves and not only online games, which is the cause of this strong raise of the online expenses because the players’ monetary balance remains more or less maintained. It was indeed noticed that internet subscriptions increase of 11 %, mobile telephony subscriptions raises 3 % and 4 % for video games. This fact of enhance concern then the evolution of computer hardware which French have because they also buy besides this more and more computing and electronic gadgets. These results were obtained after having studied the data of 2008 as well as those of 2009 and especially after a comparison between these two years. The connection to the web is thus a mean of communication and advertising very interesting for commercial companies and casinos.
