French online game: Foreign groups announce their interest
French companies and groups of casinos implanted in France are not the only operators which get ready for the opening in competition of the games and online bets in France. These operators of terrestrial casinos seems even to have many difficulties to get out of the hard battle in which they are involved. Indeed, even if the application of this text on license of online game attribution is adjourned to June 2010, a project planned initially to be applied in next January; everybody gets ready for it firmly. With a gross product of the games estimated to reach between 700 millions or one billion euro in 2012, against 200 millions euro turnover in 2006, the French market instigate all covetousness of great national and foreign groups specialized or not in online poker, in sports betting and games of casino.
Apart from casino groups, other French firms specialized in communication also make their project shine to join the sector. The TV station Eurosport has already set up a company of game with its branch Télévision Française 1 SA (TFI.FR) which lies on a joint venture with the investment fund Serendipity. The agreement signed by the radio RTL with the La Française Des Jeux, RMC and the Swedish leader of online games also announce the interest of this Scandinavian firm for the French market. The Austrian group well known in the world of casinos and online betting or the Société des Bains de Mer’s branch, the developer of casinos and hotels of the Principality of Monaco and Mangas Gaming are also in the race for these licenses of game.
