Advertising: Total prohibition for Annette Obrestad before her 25 years old
"Advertising Standards Authority” in England, the equivalent of CSA in France, has just disapproved the new advertising of an online game website. Indeed, the British authority thinks that the advertising could have psychological incidences on English youth. The promotion in question stages the Norwegian young Annette Obrestad and advances her pseudo Annette_15. ASA considers that the use of the image of a young player of poker at the top of his glory by letting understand that this one is only 15 years old can only incite young people to go on platforms of online game, therefore the approach was considered reprehensible and against the law.
The responsible of the online gaming room advanced for their defence that the champion was not especially been chosen for her young appearance, but for her qualities of outstanding game. Furthermore, she has the legal age to go on websites of game and online poker and to play on it. ASA which is strong-minded well to the fact to forbid the advertising is also going to change strategy. It won’t blame anymore the online gaming room for encouraging children to play on, it considers that the site transgressed the 57-4n article which forbids the use of a person of less than 25 years to promote online games. The room of online poker decided to remove from the circulation the incriminated advertising and also agreed to not use anymore either the name "Annette_15" or the image of the young champion in its communication in the future.
