British Columbia: In the way to authorize online games

In British Columbia, with the aim of creating new sources of income, the company of game “Lottery Corporation” intends to propose online games. The company has indeed just announced that its web site is going to offer from the first quarter 2010 online games as black jack, roulette, poker… In four years, an extra 100 millions dollars of turnover is expected. If Lottery Corporation brought a successful conclusion to this project, it would be the big first one on the American continent when we know that no North American government authorizes online games up to here. Every year, British Columbia inhabitants spend more than $87 millions on sites of offshore online game and Lottery Corporation does not want to let to go this financial windfall. "All this money goes to fiscal paradise as Antigua, it would be preferable to return it to the country", the Lottery Corporation general manager Michael Graydon, asserted.

Nevertheless, on August the 17th of this year, the company had hardly just announced the increase of the upper limit of the weekly deposits for its games which could pass from $120 to $10,000. A few time after this decision, numerous politicians created a scandal by considering that this decision was hurriedly taken without taking into account persons who have problems of addiction. But Michael Graydon retorted at once that a security system would be set up so players can make new deposits only after 24 hours. If this project of online games was born, a new front door of the companies of this sector on the American continent is in phase to be born, too.
